Puppy Feeding Guide
Food is the building blocks for optimal growth. Choose to feed raw - just as nature intended!
All the right reasons to feed luna & me:
perfectly balanced amino acids
Adult dogs require 10 essential amino acids, where puppies during their growth phase require more Arginine and Histidine or 12 amino acids.
Our natural raw Puppy Power recipe contains all the required amino acids in the right proportions.
highly nutritious
No preservatives, no fillers, no additives, no heat processing.
This means all the amino acids and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals are kept intact without any nutrient loss. We source only the finest butcher quality meats for our raw meals. We only use the finest quality ethically sourced ingredients for our fruit and vegetables.
perfect digestion & hydration
Small formed stools prove that raw is highly digestible, providing maximum nutrient absorption.
Natural meat juices provide a moist raw diet that keeps your puppy properly hydrated.
amazing quality
LUNA & me use a limited processing technique to produce a high quantity raw diet that cannot be beaten. Our mincing process produces firm meat texture that dogs love, yet find that there are not very large bone pieces. Perfect for even the smallest puppy to enjoy.

getting started
So many choices...what do I feed?
Your puppy must receive the correct nutrition for his age and that's our Puppy Power recipe.
Puppy Power has all the required nutrients in the right proportions.
Our Puppy Power recipe is easier to digest and results in firmer more consistent stools.
Choose from Patties or Mince for your puppy. Patties are the most popular and make raw feeding simple.
Simply thaw & serve. No need to add anything as we've included everything for a complete & balanced diet.
how much to feed?
Feeding requirements depend on the amount of exercise, age, breed, environmental factors, neutered status and individual variation.
We recommend feeding your puppy dog 5-7% of his actual body weight a day, divided between meals.
Maintaining a lean, health puppy in the first year is critical to avoid growth or bone disorders. You should easily feel your puppies ribs and they should be barely visible. The simplest method for determining how much to feed your puppy is by weighing your puppy regularly then enter your puppies actual weight in kgs into our online Portion Calculator to recommend daily portions in Patties & Mince.
method
8 weeks – 4 months: Daily portion divided x 4 meals.
4 – 6 months: Daily portion divided x 3 meals.
From 6 months: Daily portion divided x 2 meals.
adjusting food portions
Highly active breeds and large breed puppies often require more than 7% of their actual weight to maintain healthy body weight. Puppies require more food now than what will be required as a mature adult.
Signs your puppy may need more food are: inhaling or gulping food, begging or constantly asking for treats. If you can see your puppies ribs you should increase food portions.
Signs your puppy is being overfed or may require less food are: noticeable weight gain, (no longer see or feel ribs) leaving food behind or becoming fussy about which foods to eat.
starting out
Transitioning your puppy from dry/wet food to raw is simple and normally very quick and easy. In most cases, you should expect to have healthy, firm and formed stools the very day you start.
what about bones?
Raw bones provide both physical and mental exercise that is important for your puppy. We recommend 1-2 raw meaty bones per week.
Meal replacement bones will be eaten and chewed fairly quickly and contain a high percentage of meat and softer digestible bone.
These bones can be eaten entirely and offered in replacement for our prepared Patties or Mince.
On the menu: Naturals Bare Bones - Lamb. Not recommended for very young or tiny breed puppies.
Recreational bones are much harder and will last longer. These bones will provide longer chewing entertainment, but once the meat, sinews and marrow are cleaned off, the bone should be discarded.
Recommend for all puppies.
On the menu: Naturals Bare Bones - Beef, in a variety of sizes.
tips for success!
Make a complete switch from dry/wet to raw. Mixing raw food with dry/wet pet food can result in loose stools or vomiting.
For puppies, we do not recommend a fast. Simply start your first raw meal the day you take your puppy home.
treats
We make a lot of delicious and nutritious treats perfect for your raw fed puppy. Treats should be all-natural, 100% dehydrated meat protein. These types of treats will cause the least digestive upset.
On the menu: SuperBlends Treats; including our best selling SuperBlends Coconut Crunch.
